Brandon's 10 Hot Summer Films for the summer time

1. SUMMERTIME
David Lean directed this classic, colorful film that follows Katherine Hepburn on vacation in Venice. An absolutely beautiful, escapist film. This one is slowly becoming one of my favorite films to watch. Perfect quencher your SUMMERTIME thirst.

2. THE LONG, HOT SUMMER
Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, and Orson Welles. That should be enough to get you to check this one out. Mix up a batch of lemonade and kick on the fan for some nice southern cinema.

3. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA
There is no question that LAWRENCE is still my absolute favorite film of all time. I love this film from the beginning to the very end. 3 hours and 50 minutes of bliss. It's great on a Sunday afternoon . . . and do take an intermission!

4. FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX (JIMMY STEWART)
This movie is so heated, that it'll chap your lips. Jimmy Stewart and the gang are lights out in this classic. If you must, you can cheat and rent the new Dennis Quaid version, but it's just not the same. There was only one Jimmy Stewart.

5. STAND BY ME
Lollypop, lollypop . . . this was an instant classic. It's never hard to watch this film. If you've never watch this movie, take a summer evening off and enjoy.

6. POINT BREAK
An absolutely guilty pleasure. Keanu Reeves as special agent Johnny Utah, the poor college quaterback who blew out his knee. So, he turns undercover agent and poses as a surfer to foil a band of bank robbing misfits led by Patrick “Dirty Dancing” Swayze. A whole shipload of classy one-liners . . . many coming from knucklehead Gary Busey.

7. JAWS
Yeah, it's that time of year . . . don't go into the shallows, there might just be an oversized man-eating great white. The movie comes complete with a wonderful drunken sailor scene. If you're planning a vacation to the coast, tease yourself with a viewing of JAWS.

8. BLUE CRUSH
Another guilty pleasure. Chicks & surfboards. What can I say . . .

9. ONE CRAZY SUMMER
A total 80's extravaganza. John Cusack in full effect. The madman, radio listening dude is a definate bright spot. Just like BETTER OFF DEAD . . . it offers some truely offbeat animated sequences.

10. NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION
Join the Griswold's on their wonderful trip to Wally World. So, so classic in my book. Makes me want to sit down and drink a beer with my pops! Oh, and don't forget Aunt Edna.
