Zoe's Fall Ritual
The weather is changing and I am stoked to get into my favorite fall ritual . . . watching Horror Movies. This year is especially exciting in that one of my favorites (if it is the scariest movie you remember ever seeing does that still count as a favorite?)has just been released to DVD. TRILOGY OF TERROR. The back cover reads "Legendary producer/director Dan Curtis(DARK SHADOWS, NIGHT STALKER) teams up with writers Richard Matheson (TWILIGHT ZONE) and William F. Nolan (LOGAN'S RUN, BURNT OFFERINGS) to present three tales of horrific suspense in this made-for-tv anthology."
What I remember from watching it with my sister when I was 12 was that we watched it on our little black and white tv with very bad reception. When it got really scary we first tried turning down the sound, and when that didn't work we turned up the sound and moved the antennae to make it fuzzy. Why didn't we just turn it off? 'Cause we were kids in the house alone and it was our job to be scared to death, darn it all, it was our right! We went to bed that night in the same room, a ritual we were too adult for any other time, and left all the lights on so when our parents came home we could tell from my father's exasperated, "Oh, for Pete's Sake!".As soon as we heard that we knew we were safe. For now. But you never know what is under the bed, so be careful out there.
