Esteemed French New Wave director Eric Rohmer passed away this month, leaving an acclaimed filmography in his wake. A member of the 1950's movement in French cinema, he worked along side Godard and Truffaut, offering a different and more naturalistic style than the glamour of Hollywood at the time, and was a formative influence on American directors like Robert Altman, Francis Ford Coppola, Brian DePalma, and Martin Scorsese.

Though not all of Rohmer's films are available in the United States, Reckless Video has many of his highlights (a lot of them receiving high quality releases from The Criterion Collection), including his Oscar-nominated My Night at Maud's.
