It is fun to browse at Reckless

Reckless Video does have standard genre sections for Comedy, Action, Drama, etc, but one of the things that makes the store special (and a lot of fun to browse through) is our array of nooks, crannies, and subsections... sometimes small and sometimes not-so-small sections of movies among the more normal categories that might be just what you're looking for (even if you didn't know you were looking for it). Finding the right section-- the one that really captures your imagination-- might keep your movie-watching schedule booked for a month, so feel free to wander around and see if anything catches your eye.

Weed

Edgy Indy has grown a new section. In honor of Pineapple Express and Weeds we have started a section called…wait for it…Weed. It is a small paranoid little section that has pulled together lots of movies that are…Chronic. It is full of fun and might just make you get the munchies. Here are some of the delights that are in our killer bud section…

This section begins with the Godfather of all stoner movies, The Big Lebowski. The Dude (or El Duderino if you’re not into the whole brevity thing) is the perfect stoner who writes a check for 69 cents for half and half for his white Russian. There are other stoners that are as spectacular, Harold and Kumar, Cheech and Chong, but the Dude is the Rock Star of the waster set.

There are some hoity toity documentary movies, like The Hemp Revolution. This Doc “tells the amazing and little known story of the Hemp plant.” Thepractical solutions and scientific information makes this the perfect Woody Harrelson Support vehicle.

Smiley Face is a charming little chick stoner movie starring Anna Faris (House Bunny and The Scary Movies) as Jane. Danny Masterson (the head stoner in That 70’s Show) leaves a batch of cupcakes that have a little bit of “the herb” for spice. The day turns trippy and confusing and is loads of fun.  

Don’t forget the lovely Horror film Pot Zombies whose tag line is “When they get the munchies…you get Wasted.” This features the music of DOA, Honky, Blitz, and The Dwarves.  

Luke Wilson and Jack Black are about 11 years old in the movie Bong Water. The cast is filled with indy favorites, Brittany Murphy, Andy Dick, Alicia Witt, And Jamie Kennedy.

The wonderful thing about all these movies is that no matter how bad the events turn; Mary Jane can always make things look up.  

Of course this section contains classic Cheech and Chong movies, the Harold and Kumar Movies, and Dazed and Confused. Let’s not forget Marihuana, (the Daring Drug Expose). Saving Grace is the BBC movie about a British woman who saves her home by growing weed. There is the Trailer Park Boys (the movie) which takes the Canadian TV show to new heights.  

So Dude, rent some Refer Madness and don’t even bother looking for your car.
