A Real Hero
Jody Hill (Foot Fist Way, Eastbound and Down) takes the helm for this comedy about an ambitious mall cop who competes with a seasoned detective to bust an elusive flasher in Observe and Report. Make a wrong move at Forest Ridge Mall, and you'll have to answer to no-nonsense security head Ronnie Barnhardt (Seth Rogen: Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Pineapple Express). Ronnie sees skateboarders as the blight of society, and any shoplifter unfortunate enough to summon his wrath will be promptly busted and booked. Sure, Ronnie may suffer delusions of grandeur when it comes to his job, but perhaps with a little effort he'll eventually get to trade in his flashlight and patch for a gun and a badge. When a flasher begins tormenting the shoppers at Forest Ridge Mall, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his detective skills and impress gorgeous makeup counter girl Brandi (Anna Faris: The House Bunny, Mama's Boy), who can't be bothered to give him a second glance. Perhaps by catching the culprit, Ronnie will finally earn himself a prized position over at the police academy.
But the one thing Ronnie hadn't counted on was competition, and when Detective Harrison (Ray Liotta: Goodfellas, Crossing Over) of the Conway Police makes it his personal mission to nab the flasher, the two rivals begin working around the clock to crack the case before their counterpart.
Connor Mead (Matthew McConaughey: Surfer Dude, Tropic Thunder) is a notorious photographer who has a bad boy reputation of loving beautiful women and dumping them when they fall in love with him in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Beautiful models and celebrities flock to his studio to get their picture taken, usually in lingerie, and throw themselves at him. Conner is so overloaded with women that he has to breakup with three women at the same time during a conference call in front of his next prey. His brother Paul (Breckin Meyer: Rebound, Garfield) is about to get married, and Connor thinks he is making a terrible mistake. As an incorrigible bachelor, Connor loves his freedom more than ever settling down and loving only one woman. Connor tries to talk Paul out of getting married, and it looks like Connor is about to succeed. Then the night before the wedding, Connor is visited by three ghosts, who take him back to his past, present, and his lonely future. They try to discovery the point in time where Connors became this womanizing jerk. Maybe there is still time to change him into a sensitive, feeling, and caring person that he once was, and he may even find his true love.
