High Concept

Ron Howard (Cinderella Man, Apollo 13) directs the critically acclaimed Frost/Nixon, pitting the politically fierce Richard Nixon (Frank Langella: The Caller, The Ninth Gate) against the dashing TV personality David Frost (Michael Sheen: Underworld, The Queen), hoping to make his first substantial impact on television. Imaginatively fashioning the historical interviews into a dramatic story, Frost/Nixon received five Oscar nominations, and was celebrated as a showcase some of the finest work by its actors, which also include Kevin Bacon (Where the Truth Lies, Queens Logic) and Oliver Platt (Ice Harvest, Gun Shy). On DVD and Blu-Ray.

Also up for several Oscars, Darren Aronofsky's (The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream) The Wrestler stars Mickey Rourke (Sin City, Barfly) as a professional wrestler twenty years past his prime, still trying to bask in the glory of the ring, though the money is scarce and his health is deteriorating. As he tries to firm up a casual relationship with a stripper (Marisa Tomei: Happy Accidents, War Inc) and reconnect with his estranged daughter (Evan Rachel Wood: Across the Universe, King of California), a high profile rematch comes his way... but he may have to choose between a shot at reclaiming his fame and his chance at living a real life. On DVD and Blu-Ray.

Smaller Titles

The drama The Last Word stars Wes Bentley (P2, American Beauty) as a poet who writes suicide notes for people who can't write the notes themselves. His life is complicated when the sister of one of his recently deceased clients (Winona Ryder: A Scanner Darkly, Heathers) inserts herself into his life, and his newest client (Ray Romano: The Grand, Welcome to Mooseport) proves to be incredibly difficult. Suddenly, he has to face the fact that, though he may be good with other people's deaths, he's not so good at his own life.

Hayley Atwell (The Duchess, Mansfield Park) is left in charge of a residential home over Christmas in How About You, and the few remaining residents who don't return to their families over the holidays might prove to be too much to handle. Known as the "Hardcores," the home is populated by Vanessa Redgrave (Atonement, Blowup), Imelda Staunton (Freedom Writers, Vera Drake), Brenda Fricker (Milk, Veronica Guerin), and Joss Ackland (Lethal Weapon 2, Flawless), who are irascible enough to drive out new residents and could cause the place to close.

Notorious tells the story of Notorious B.I.G., from his childhood in Brooklyn with his mother Voletta (Angela Bassett: Meet the Browns, Vampire in Brooklyn) to his ascent both in street life and as a hip hop star. With Derek Luke (Miracle at St. Anna, Glory Road) as Sean "Puffy" Combs.
