Week of July 17th at Reckless Video

Jul 17, 2007

Were it not that I have bad dreams...

Sandra Bullock (Miss Congeniality, Crash) stars in this week's highlight thriller, Premonition, where she dreams the death of her husband, and struggles to prevent her visions from coming true. Also new this week is The Hills Have Eyes 2, the sequel to last year's remake of the Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm St, Scream) grindhouse cult classic, which adds National Guard soldiers to the story of survival in the desert. Perfect Creature stars Dougray Scott (Enigma, Mission Impossible 2) as a vampire who tries to prevent his own kind from wiping out the human race.

Factory Girl is the story of Warhol factory member Holly Golightly, and her rise to fame with Andy Warhol (Guy Pearce, Memento, The Proposition) and eventual downward spiral. A pair of foreign pictures are also new this week, both the French Avenue Montaigne, about a woman waiting tables in the center of Paris' art scene, and finds herself in the middle of the relationships of actors, artists, and musicians, and the Japanese actioner Yo Yo Girl Cop, which crosses a 21 Jump Street story with an over-the-top Manga premise.

The Oscar nominated Iraq in Fragments is one of the new documentaries this week, documenting the current state of affairs in Iraq, as told by the Iraqis. PBS's documentary The Mormons focuses on the history and current evolution of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including its many controversies. Two artist documentaries are also available, both the story of 13th Floor Elevators singer Roky Erickson in You're Gonna Miss Me and Life and Times of Allen Ginsberg, from the history of the beat poet movement and Ginsberg's contributions to culture over the last sixty years.

The first and second seasons of the BBC grifter series Hu$tle is new to the TV new releases, as well as the first two seasons of the Canadian comedy Trailer Park Boys. The fourth season of Foyle's War has just been released, and we have The Black Cat , the next episode of Showtime's Masters of Horror Series. By popular demand, we've just brought in the first two seasons Justice League Unlimited, as well as season one and two of the anime series Twelve Kingdoms, and the third installment of Fullmetal Alchemist.
